Opinions Needed Please!

Hey all - just hoping I could get your opinions on something. One of my remote clients had a wallpaper guy come in to do the wallpaper installation on the ceiling of their master. The wallpaper wasn’t going to cover all of the ceiling, so it was supposed to be centered with even gaps around the perimeter at which point we were going to install thin molding around it all to case it in. HOWEVER, the installer did not center the wallpaper so there is a much bigger gap on one side. Client says they don’t notice it but I’m worried if we do the molding it will make it more obvious so wondering if we should just skip it. What do you think? Photo isn’t the greatest but I couldn’t attach a video

Hi @kateseymour - I don’t think the gap looks terrible given the lime wash finish on the walls. It’s really hard to get a feel for it without a clearer pic of the room. I agree that adding molding may draw more attention to the gap. I would suggest adding an extra decorative piece of trip to fill the gap (and painting it green to match the wallpaper) or getting another roll of wallpaper to fill in the gap before adding the molding.

I have a video from them but can’t seem to add it here, maybe I can send it to you? We’re not getting more paper at this point, we were going to put the trim directly around the paper vs where the ceiling meets the walls.

Doesn’t look like my comment was in response to yours so sorry if you get this twice lol: I have a video from them but can’t seem to add it here, maybe I can send it to you? Where is the bed going? And what is the style of the bed? Perhaps a canopy bed or half-tester canopy could help to disguise the gap on one side?

I’m more worried about the gaps on the long sides. The gap all the way around was purposeful, but it was supposed to be centered and on the long sides there is a 3+ inch difference. I’m just wondering if the molding will make that more apparent or help disguise it, not trying to hide the gap in general.
