Help with my guest bedroom…

My guest bedroom is currently living rent-free in my head.

I love all of the individual pieces—the wallpaper, the artwork, the fabrics, the grasscloth options, the lighting—but I keep second-guessing how they all work together. I want the room to feel collected, sophisticated, and layered without crossing the line into feeling busy or overdesigned.

Part of me wants to be bold with color and trim, and the other part of me wants to keep it calm and timeless. Every time I think I’ve made a decision, I see another option and start questioning everything again.

The good news is that I don’t think the room has a design problem—I think it has too many good options. I can see the finished vision in my head, but I’m struggling to commit because I want it to be just right.

At this point, I think I need to stop designing and start installing. :joy:

I am trying to decide on what wallpaper (grasscloth) is best… Teal or purple. I could also just paint the room purple like brassica from F&B? I also added the sconces that will be installed next to my painting. The wallpaper will be in the bathroom attached to the room with a colored trim. The white fabric with squares represents a chair in the room.

thoughts are welcomed!

oh my gosh i’ve been there, especially with guest bedrooms. something about their lower-stakes makes it 10 times harder to decide!

What color will the trim in the bathroom be painted? both the purple and the teal match the bathroom wallpaper nicely, so I think the trim color may help me narrow it down between the two.

all other things being equal, green is my favorite color so i’m partial to it in this case (teh teal). whether or not you paint teal or do grasscloth i think depends on how many other textures you envision for the room, and whether your indecision is making you want to choose the more flexible option (paint) so you can always change your mind later at a lower cost than having done grasscloth wallpaper. like are you the kind of person who would want to be able to change it? or once you make a decision you’re happy and you stick with it?

i’d love to see the teal as your base color, lots of warm whites as your secondary, and then bringing out some of the red from the bathroom wallpaper as your accent color. feels very rich but also restrained!
