Hi! I color drenched this room that will be used as my dressing room and a guest room. I’m now second guessing the color (summerhouse blue). I also got the terracotta colored rug.
I am getting rid of the dresser. I am totally lost about what color to do for bedding for the daybed. I want to add draping over it to add warmth but I don’t want it to look like a kids room. What type of vanity stool would look coolest? What I should replace the dresser with so the room does not look too old fashion but more romantic, intentional, playful and cozy.
What if you added the warmth via floor length curtains on the window? If you hang them a few inches above that window it’ll also make the ceilings look taller. I’d do something cream colored and billowy.
Then you could do a stand alone vanity like * this one (with the stool) which matches the mid century modern vibe of the fan and the daybed and lamp. You could put it on the right corner of this picture (like a few inches in front of the curtains / window).
If you do go with that vanity set, then you could play off the sage green and cream (which also works nicely with the terracotta rug and blue walls) for bedding. I’m not sure how feminine you want to go / if you’re open to florals, but I love garnett hill bedding and they’re having a 30% off sale rn. I’d love to see this * cream colored linen quilt on the bed to tie in the cream and lighten up the room!
Perhaps a linen pallet for bedding and drapes, find accent pieces like pillows and art with the blue and orange colors to tie everything together, add a vase with the orange flowers , same with the seat, linen with blue n orange colors…love to see finished results,.. good luck.

Thank you so much! Everything was very low in the room so I thought a highboy dresser would add a more visually interesting dynamic. I purchased some slate blue velvet drapes and some semi sheer antique lace. Excited to see if I want to keep up the color drench, or go lighter for the drapes. I personally love the blue duvet with burgundy pipping but thats an easy change out if it starts too look like a blue showroom. Finding the right drapes, bedding, and lights has been really challenging for me. I haven’t found lighting that feels like it enhances or belongs in the room. Everything is either too sterile, or too kitchy.
