This is the current room . I’m interested in thoughts on a breakfast nook in the corner or if it’s crazy to have a buffet with the extended seat on left side of room. Kind of blocking off the room. Or if it must be completely up against a wall. Also open to slim dining table where current table is with. Bench seating to save room. If I were to do a nook up against corner wall how else would I utilize the rest of the room?
I definitely think you can pull off a corner nook! You could find a vintage stand-alone pantry to put against the wall to the left of the nook (like where your mirror / table is now) and put your serveware and dinnerware in there. If that’s too much space, a wall mounted plate rack could be super cute there. It’s hard to see what else I might do with only this photo but do my suggestions make sense given the rest of the room? If not, send more pics!
Hi Emma,
A breakfast nook would be a great idea!! I personally am loving the breakfast/dining area with bench seating. its soooooooo in right now and it utilizes allllll of your space. the seating is up against the wall/attached to the wall so you’re not losing space with gaps. it can feel cozy, formal, whatever theme you’re looking for. it can also offer storage if you put drawers or make the bench seating hallow. i personally would choose the bench seating with the longer table. i wonder if having the breakfast nook in the corner would make the rest of the floor space seem like the breakfast nook is off in its own little world. however you could make a coffee bar next to the breakfast nook to tie it all together. i attached some pictures for reference.
