Hello! We are renovating a 1929 home in Charleston, SC, and the master bathroom will lead into the master closet. Should we carry the tile from the bathroom into the closet or lay hardwoods in the master closet?
oooh! how much of the floor can you see in the closet? is it a walk-in?
generally i think bringing the tile in will make it all feel like one big suite that includes both bath and dressing room, and not bringing the tile in makes it feel like two distinct spaces. do you have a point of view on which you want? i think if the closet is on the smaller side, keeping it tiled actually packs a punch and serves to make your bathroom feel bigger and more luxurious (like it’s an attached closet to the bathroom). if it’s a large walk in, i’d probably lay hardwoods so it feels like yet another room that you can optimize for what you’d want when you’re dressing: plushy rug, complementary coloring for your skintone, …
