Hello all!
I’ve decided to pursue my dream of becoming an interior designer. It’s always been something I’ve dreamt of doing, but fears and anxieties stopped me, so I stayed comfortable in the food industry and working in a kitchen. I realized life is too short to not do what you love, and so I’m finally pursuing my dream! I just have so many questions and don’t know anyone in this profession to mentor me on where to start!
- Do I need to go to school in order to obtain my certificate or are there online courses for less time and money that accomplish the same?
- What programs are used most? I’m familiarizing myself with SketchUp free online version.
- What additional skills and knowledge do I need to for this profession?
- What math is used and when will I need it?
- Are there jobs that’ll put me in a closer environment where I’ll be able to gain knowledge correlated to this field? I’ve applied to furniture stores in hopes to gain familiarization with brands and trendy styles.
- Is there anything I can do to further increase my luck with what I’m striving to achieve?
