What’s the best way to clean my rug? How often are you all cleaning your area rugs? I vacuum all the time, but I think it’s about time some of my rugs got a deeper clean.
So, how do you clean your rugs at home? I’ve heard that throwing your Moroccan rugs in the snow can somehow clean them?? Someone make it make sense?

I typically shampoo my rugs every quarter out of the year, but that is also because it does not see heavy traffic. If the rug is in a place where there is heavy traffic, then I just double the amount of times I shampoo it.
Following this thread because I too want advice here! As a relatively new pet owner, I have never before found the need to clean my rugs so often. I just have a Miele vacuum that has a rug attachment, but have never used a cleaning product.
@stephaniemora what do you use to shampoo your rugs? Is there a specific product or tool you recommend?
