Hi Spoak community!
I am currently an interior design student from Drexel, learning about the real challenges and wins in interior design careers. Talking to designers, one thing keeps coming up: communication and expectation management can be a bigger challenge than creating amazing 3D/AR/VR visuals.
I made this meme after hearing stories about clients who send endless inspo pics, only to fall out of love with the end result! (Can anyone relate? )
Have you found communication/expectations to be your biggest workflow bottleneck?
Or does something else cause you headaches—tech, sourcing, pricing, design changes?
What tips, creative fixes, or process tweaks help you thrive?
Honestly, even a quick one-liner or shared story helps me (and others) understand how to build better design tools and processes.
Yeah totally relate to this haha. Communication really is half the job in design. I had clients change their minds like ten times even after signing off on a moodboard. Now I do a small “style sync” chat before diving deep and it saves so much time and stress. Also keeping visual references super consistent helps a lot. Glad you brought this up it’s such a real struggle.
